Gaming in Nevada - Research Paper Example This move however failed and as a compromise penalties for gambling were dramatically reduced. Only mild fines were imposed on operators and the players were let off with the objective of preclusion. In 1909, legislation was passed by the influence of progressive movements that banned all types of gambling in the state. In 1919, the law got relaxed and the state started issuing licenses for card room games like bridge and whist. In 1920ââ¬â¢s Reno became the gaming capital of the state. During the time of the great depression, the differences in opinion about gambling were finally settled. The Assembly passed the Bill 98 in 1931 which allowed gambling as an entertainment. Explain why Act 2. Scene 2. is a turning point in the play for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth Essay Example for Free
Explain why Act 2. Scene 2. is a turning point in the play for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth Essay Explain why Act 2. Scene 2. Is a turning point in the play for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. How should the actors playing these characters behave to show the audience what they are feeling? In the First Act we learn that Macbeth is thought of as a very noble, loyal, brave man. For brave Macbeth O valiant cousin, worthy gentlemen! Macbeth was victorious in a battle on behalf of the kingdom and gets lots of praise from the king, and the other soldiers, and unknown to him is soon be given the title, Thane Of Cawdor. Banquo and Macbeth are travelling home and they came across 3 witches. These witches prophisize that Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and that soon after he will become king. All hail Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! All hail Macbeth! Thalt shalt be King hereafter. Macbeth doesnt pay to much attention to them and continues on with his journey, when he returns home, he finds out that the King is coming to stay with him and Lady Macbeth in their castle. Macbeth then finds out of the title and tells Lady Macbeth of the three witches prophesies, and then Lady Macbeth starts to hatch a plan. Macbeth was so horrified of the idea of killing Duncan because in those days, people believed in something, which was called the divine right of kings. Which meant that they believed the king to have been chosen by god. So an attack on King Duncan would have been considered sacrilege. In Act one, Macbeth comes across as brave and loyal, but if he goes through with the murder, he will be forever looking over his shoulder, he will have to watch what he says and does, because he could be found out. This would change his character entirely. Macbeth has to realise that there can be no going back once the murder has been committed. James 1 would have understood and believed in the divine right of kings, so when the play was being written, including it would have been more interesting as the play was originally wrote for James 1, who was king at the time. Scene 2 has to be the most violent part of the play although we dont actually see the murder in the written play, it is only included in the film version, which we recently watched, directed by Roman Polantski. It is interesting that Macbeth kills King Duncan offstage, the scene could be written this way because Shakespeare wanted us to concentrate on Macbeths reaction to the murder, rather than the murder itself. Its a crucial part in the play as it the first of many murders. The murder takes place on the night of the Kings stay. Everything that happens in the play now is revolved around this scene. This scene is important because it not only features the murder scene. It is also the start of the falling apart of the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. There is a lot of tension when we see Lady Macbeth pacing about nervously, waiting for Macbeth to come back. We also see Lady Macbeths softer side too when she says Had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had donet meaning if the King had not looked like her father she would have gone through with the murder herself. I imagine her to be looking quite sad at this point, yet nervous, for fear of still being caught. It reminds us that lady Macbeth still has some humanity because it might help the audience to understand why she does what she does at the end of the play. Lady Macbeth hears an owl screech while she is waiting for Macbeth and jumps, as she is clearly quite nervous even though earlier on in the play she says That, which hath made them drunk, hath made me bold. This is obviously not the case. Lady Macbeth may say this half-jokingly and holding the cup up near to her face, which she drinks it. When Macbeth comes to meet his wife they are both nervous, yet they seem excited to, as they dont speak in full sentences, its a short, sharp exchange of words. When , Now , as, I descended , Aye. His shows the audience that they are worried, nervous etc. They will at this maybe looking around them to see if there is anyone coming, or looking at each other trying to see what the other is thinking. Macbeth also still has hold of the daggers, which makes the tension in the scene increase. Macbeth cant seem to believe he has committed such a crime as he says, This is a sorry sight. He is also referring to his hands, which are covered in blood, Macbeth must have been putting his head in his hands at this point for him not to notice, therefore holding them up in front of his face. He cant seem to forget about the murder after this point. He seems obsessed with what he has done and almost in a hypnotising state of mind. Lady Macbeth, although in a way mocks him, she stays calm and says to him Go get some water and wash this filthy witness from your hands. Lady Macbeth is probably pushing him to the fountain and is keeping an eye on him, as so, they wont get caught. Macbeth knows that he might be able to get rid of the stain from his hands but not from his conscience. He says Not all Neptunes ocean can wash me clean. Lady Macbeth makes fun of Macbeth for dwelling on the murder and has a go at him for being a coward. Macbeth and his wife seem to lose a connection with each other and Shakespeare has made it obvious that Macbeth is the weaker of the two characters and his and Lady Macbeths relationship isnt going very well. He shows this by having Macbeth ramble on, and say long speeches. But Lady Macbeth stays in control, she acts almost evil and without a conscience. The play seems to build up more tension by Macbeth saying that he thought he had heard a voice saying Glamis hath murdered sleep, and therefore shall sleep no more: Macbeth shall sleep no more. This could be Macbeths imagination, or him hearing another of the witches prophesies. The knocking on the door startles Macbeth, as he knows now, this could tell whether his crime is about to be found out or not. Lady Macbeth again keeps her head amongst all of this, although nervous they will be discovered. Lady Macbeth quickly returns the bloodstained daggers to Duncans grooms, and goes one further and says, If he do bleed, Ill guild the grooms with Duncans blood, for it must seem their guilt. Shakespeare has her do this to make the audience aware of how much more confident than Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is. Whereas Macbeth is still in shock of the crime he had committed. Shakespeare conveys that Lady Macbeth and Macbeths relationship is slowly deteriorating, as Macbeth seems to be acting crazily and Lady Macbeth seems evil and calculating and in control of the situation. The knocking still carrying on, lady Macbeth appears annoyed and urges her husband, to his chamber, where they can hide and come across as innocent to the murder if it is discovered. Shakespeare has once again let Lady Macbeth take control. Shakespeare has cleverly used language and structure of sentences manages to create a lot of tension and excitement in this scene. He uses the right language in the right places to make the characters and the play really believable. Towards the end of the play Macbeth becomes overwhelmed by guilt and fear, he murders anyone he suspects might know. Eventually the heir to crown kills Macbeth, after Lady Macbeth has taken her own life as she is overcome by the guilt. King James and the rest of the Shakespearean audience would have wanted the murders and lies and drama, this is probably what they would have expected. Sacrilege was believed to have been punished by God. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were the murderers so this would have added excitement; the witches added some eerieness and supernatural theme to the play. These are good choices for the play at that particular time, and it still makes it good today.

Sexism in Our Society Essay -- Sexism Gender Women Men Essays
Sexism in Our Society Sexism has always been a major issue for women. It seems that today, everyone has to be careful of what they say and do so as to avoid offending someone. While everyone is busy worrying about extinguishing sexism towards women - which still is an issue that needs to be taken care of, who is concerned with sexism towards men? Sexism is just as much of an issue to men as it is to women. Many people believe that men have advantages over women when comes to a topic such as occupation. Although this may be true, in some cases it is in fact exactly the opposite. Today?s society is so concerned with political correctness and equal rights to women that it has almost completely forgotten about equal rights to men as well. If, in a hypothetical example, a man and a woman go into the same job interview for a company that was involved in a sexual harassment suit with a female employee some years before, and has since had trouble keeping its female employees, there is a very good chance that the woman applicant will get the job, even if the man may be better qualified for the position. If instead, a company was deciding between a man and a woman candidate for a promotion, and was worried about its image as a sexist industry? Not to say that men are always better-qualified than women, or always passed-over for a position or promotion because the company wants to save-face, but unfortunately it does happen in our culture. Granted, women are still often the unfortunate victims of sexism in today?s society, being denied a job opportunity or equal pay because of their gender or because they are thought to be for example too fragile or too emotional for the applied position. Women ... ...ough name-calling and sexist actions. Men and women are also both stereotyped and judged by their looks. A small, attractive woman is less likely to get a job in a warehouse or packing-plant than a larger, more rough-looking woman, regardless of skills or qualifications. The same goes for men in such a situation; an attractive man is assumed to be better suited for an office or sales job, whereas a less-attractive man would be assumed to be better at a job such as truck driving or something with manual labor. Although the issue of sexism has gotten better over the years, and continues to do so, we as a culture must not neglect to realize that women are not the only sufferers of this offense. The more society focuses solely on sexism as an issue toward its women, the less it will recognize that sexism is just as much of an issue to its men.

Changes to the set context due to the system Essay
There will obviously have to be some changes to how the cinema is run because of ICT and the system. The system will have to be maintained and it will also have to be prioritised over other methods of advertising. The reason for this is because, this will soon probably become the most efficient and most used method to find out facts about the cinema. This is going to change many things in the cinema. The cinema is going to hire people who can manage websites and know how ICT works and are willing t put in extra effort to improve and maintain their improvements to the system. It is likely that someone is going to loose their job because of the switch from so called analogue to technological devices. The new posts will require candidates who have had experience with basic technical devices and know how things work. Therefore I believe that when coming to choose these new candidates we will soon realise the difference in job profiles and the different experiences which the candidates will have. The switch to technological devices will most defiantly see new posts created and jobs lost, but this is for the advantage to some and the disadvantage to others. The new kind of devices which could be introduced to the set context could be things like; 1. New tills 2. Bar code readers 3. Bar codes 4. Printing machines 5. New computer systems 6. New programs These are just a few of the things which might be changed because of the effect of ICT. The old people may not know how to operate the new devices, and it will probably be more worth while for the company to introduce a fresh face to the cinema with new staff who can carry out the tasks which the old were performing and also have the advantage over the old ones because of their knowledge on technical devices. The old staff may be reliable and worthy of their job, so the cinema might decide to offer training to certain individuals. This is a possibility for the cinema if they donââ¬â¢t want to loose some of their employees. The cinema also has to think about the fact that training is more expensive then replacing the old staff with new staff. It would be easier to do this, but the cinema doesnââ¬â¢t know how reliable the new staff may be. This could be an issue to think about. They might have all the knowledge but they might not be willing to work as hard of as efficiently as the old staff. This could affect business in a strong way. There are two possibilities; 1. Replacing the current staff 2. Training the current staff The system which I my self have created is a major fact to be considered in this decision on what to do with the staff. It is more then likely that new staff will have to be introduced to maintain the site or staff can be trained to do it. The current staff may have a small amount of experience with computers and different types of systems, but I believe that the new system which I have created for advertisement is completely different. The kind of things which have to be done to maintain and update the system is completely different to using the current system. The staff needs to learn how to use new programs and operate FTP programs. It is possible to offer new posts for certain jobs and to keep some of the posts which are already at the cinema. The new posts could be offered to the people who can do things which others canââ¬â¢t. For example, maintaining the system. The kind of jibs which can be kept would be selling tickets and refreshments. These are just a few of the changes which can be made. Training can be offered to those on the tills so that they can adjust to the new system. The reason why it is a good idea to keep some of the old staff and to get some new staff is because, if the majority of your staff are dismissed because they donââ¬â¢t know how to use technical devices then there is going to be a certain amount of anger towards the cinema, and this could potentially ruin the name of the company.

Arguments against Euthanasia Essay
1) Applies to a very small number of situations, therefore unethical to make a doctrine based on this. Modern medicine can alleviate pain and suffering in almost all cases. Accepting euthanasia means accepting the fact that medicine is not advanced enough rather than looking at constructive solutions i.e. further advancements in medicine. 2) Signals giving up on a case, insult to determination and endeavor of the patient as well as the doctor, violation of Hippocrates oath 3) Value in suffering: teach the community perseverance. The community will care for the patient and will learn to go beyond its own set of autonomous goals. Show that human life has value behind personal happiness and absence of pain. 4) Focus is to alleviate pain: can be done through painkillers, euthanasia is unnecessary. 5) Life is a gift of God: each human being has intrinsic value and cannot be treated as means to an end i.e. a painless death. Shows sick and disabled as undesirable. 6) Thin line between eutha nasia and murder-can be misused. Cost cutting for terminally ill people. 7) Mistaken diagnosis-may affect a personââ¬â¢s life 8) Making voluntary euthanasia legal will lead to a domino effect: make involuntary euthanasia legal, which is equivalent to murder In June of 1990, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, a 63-year-old retired pathologist, was charged with first-degree murder after he helped an Oregon woman with Alzheimerââ¬â¢s disease commit suicide in June 1990. Kevorkian was also charged with helping two other women, Marjorie Wantz and Sherry Miller to commit suicide. Miller was incapacitated by multiple sclerosis and Wantz suffered from a painful pelvic condition. Neither condition was life threatening or terminal. Speaking to the National Press Club in 1992, Dr. Kevorkian defended himself by saying that a terminal illness was one that would curtail life by even one day and since all of his victims had ââ¬Ëterminal illnessesââ¬â¢, therefore ââ¬Ëeuthanasiaââ¬â¢ was justified. He has also referred to old age as a ââ¬Ëterminal illnessââ¬â¢ on multiple occasions. Euthanasia, or the right to die, is sought for those people who are terminally ill. Terminally illâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ¦hmmm, how would you define people who are terminally ill? (Pause) Well, the definitions may vary from person to person and that is where the problem arises. People like Dr. Kevorkian effortlessly misuse this phrase to include illnesses, which are not necessarily terminal in order to fulfill their own vested interests. Good morning everyone. The motion on the floor today is ââ¬Å"Voluntary euthanasia should be legalizedâ⬠and we are going to speak against the motion. There is a very thin line between euthanasia and suicide or murder. In most cases, the two are no different from each other. People with non terminal or even trivial illnesses can misuse the legal sanction for euthanasia by using it to assist them with suicide. For a depressed, ill or elderly person, the emotional and psychological pressures, arising out of the feeling that they are a burden on the family or their caretakers, could push a person towards euthanasia. Such people may look for an exit from their guilt by approaching a doctor who is willing to help them, of course, for a handsome sum of money.

A Beginners Guide to Ruby Programming Language
A Beginners Guide to Ruby Programming Language Ruby is unique among object-oriented scripting languages. In a sense, its a purists language for those who love object-oriented languages. Everything, without exception, is automatically an object, whereas in other programming languages this isnt true. What is an object? Well, in a sense you can think of it in terms of building a car. If you have a blueprint for it, then an object is whats built from that blueprint. It contains all the attributes that the object holds (i.e. make, model, color) and the actions it can perform. But, even as a pure object-oriented language, Ruby doesnt sacrifice any usability or flexibility by leaving out features that arent expressly related to object-oriented programming. Designing Ruby Rubys architect Yukihiro Matsumoto (known simply as Matz on the web) designed the language to be simple enough for beginning programmers to use while also powerful enough for experienced programmers to have all the tools theyd need. It sounds contradictory, but this dichotomy is owed to Rubys pure object-oriented design and Matzs careful selection of features from other languages such as Perl, Smalltalk, and Lisp. There are libraries for building all types of applications with Ruby: XML parsers, GUI bindings, networking protocols, game libraries and more. Ruby programmers also have access to the powerful RubyGems program. Comparable to Perls CPAN, RubyGems makes it easy to import other programmers libraries into your own programs. What Is Ruby Not? Like any programming language, Ruby has its downsides. Its not a high-performance programming language. In that regard, Pythons virtual machine design has a huge advantage. Also, if youre not a fan of the object-oriented methodology then Ruby isnt for you. Though Ruby does have some features that fall outside the realm of object-oriented languages, its not possible to create a non-trivial Ruby program without using the object-oriented features. Ruby doesnt always perform as well as other similar scripting languages in raw computing tasks. That being said, future versions will address these problems and alternate implementations, such as JRuby, are available as a workaround for these issues. How Is Ruby Used? Ruby is used in typical scripting language applications such as text processing and glue or middleware programs. Its suitable for small, ad-hoc scripting tasks that, in the past, may have been solved with Perl. Writing small programs with Ruby is as easy as importing the modules you need and writing an almost BASIC-like sequence of events type of program. Like Perl, Ruby also has first-class regular expressions, which makes text processing scripts a snap to write. The flexible syntax also aides in small scripts. With some object-oriented languages, you can get bogged down with verbose and bulky code, but Ruby leaves you free to simply worry about your script. Ruby is also suitable for larger software systems. Its most successful application is in the Ruby on Rails web framework, software which has five major subsystems, numerous minor pieces and a plethora of support scripts, database backends, and libraries. To aid the creation of larger systems, Ruby offers several layers of compartmentalization, including the class and module. Its lack of superfluous features allows programmers to write and use large software systems without any surprises. What Skills Would Be Helpful for Learning Ruby? A solid understanding of object-oriented concepts. Ruby is an object-oriented language and the object-oriented features are used throughout. Without this critical skill, youll be struggling as a Ruby programmer.A bit of functional programming knowledge. This is a plus as Ruby uses the block or closure extensively. Not having this ability isnt insurmountable, though. Creating blocks is a feature that can be learned easily enough while learning Ruby.A bit of navigational know-how. The primary way of running a Ruby script is from the command-line. Knowing how to navigate directories, run scripts and redirect input and output are essential skills to Ruby programmers. Applications and Tools Needed for Ruby The Ruby interpreterA text editor such as Notepad, Scite, or Vim. Word processors such as Wordpad or Microsoft Word are not suitable.Command-line access. Though the details of this differ from platform to platform, Linux, Windows, and OSX all have this available without any extra downloads or software installation.

A Fool-Proof Way to Achieve Any Goal - And Thats a Promise
A Fool-Proof Way to Achieve Any Goal - And Thats a Promise The Temptation of Giving Up A friend of mine set out to make croissants for the first time. For those of you unfamiliar with the art of French baking, these pastries require several stages of preparation over 2-3 days. On the second day of his first attempt, when the batter got too thin and sticky, my friend got frustrated and threw the dough into a bread pan instead of finishing the croissant-making process. I protested that he was giving up too soon, but to no avail. He ended up with some cross between biscuits and croissants, and a learning experience for the next attempt. The Art of Perseverance ââ¬â A Lesson from Mouse Tales My tendency is not to give up on almost anything until absolutely all options have been exhausted. Part of that philosophy was hammered into me as a child through multiple readings of the book Mouse Tales, by Arnold Lobel. I did not realize it at the time, but I think I learned some of my most important life lessons from that book. In one story, The Journey, a mouse ventures out in his car on a road trip to his motherââ¬â¢s house. After driving for some time, he encounters a slight problem: The car, sadly, falls apart. But, thankfully, just at the right moment, there is someone selling roller skates at the side of the road. The mouse purchases a pair and rolls and rolls until, guess what? The wheels fall off of the roller skates. As luck would have it, there is a person selling boots at the side of the road! The mouse wears through the soles of the boots, and then through a pair of sneakers, and then, would you believe, though a pair of feet. When his feet get too tired to walk, amazingly enough, there is a person by the side of the road selling feet! The mouse makes it to his motherââ¬â¢s house wearing his brand new pair of feet. Excuses, Excuses Many of us in the mouseââ¬â¢s situation would never have made it to our motherââ¬â¢s house with all these breakdowns. Do any of these laments sound familiar? My car broke down! Now I have to take it to the shop. Sorry mom. I tried! I even tried getting there on roller skates! But everything just keeps falling apart. It wasnââ¬â¢t meant to be. My hands are tied. Bad things are always happening to me. No one is there to help me. I have to do everything alone! I canââ¬â¢t let my mother know that my car is so old and broken down. I donââ¬â¢t have time for this. These excuses keep us from being creative, from keeping our eye on the prize, and from noticing that person who shows up just at the right time to help us. They keep us from prioritizing our relationships. And they have us tossing in the towel long before the game is truly over. The Magic Formula for Achieving Any Goal Setting aside all judgment about how important our mother would feel if we gave up on our journey, what this Mouse Tale has to teach us is something about persistence and perseverance. This mouse was not about to give up no matter what. He understood that his commitment to his goal was beyond any limitation on how he would achieve it. And at every juncture where he could have thrown up his paws and said ââ¬Å"I canââ¬â¢tâ⬠or ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s impossibleâ⬠or ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s too hard,â⬠he found an alternative and went with it. My friend Seth and I, some time ago, identified a surefire and quite simple way to reliably achieve any goal: ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t give up until you achieve it.â⬠You will either achieve that goal or you will die trying. Whether itââ¬â¢s making croissants, getting a new job, or making a visit to mom, the rule always applies. Thatââ¬â¢s the rule the mouse followed. He reached his goal, he could feel proud of himself, and his mother was very very happy. [By the way, my croissant-making friend did try again. Things did not go perfectly the second time either, but he pressed on until actual croissants, albeit dense ones, came out of the oven. Perhaps the third time will be the charm.]

ACME Tea Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words
ACME Tea - Assignment Example However, ACME is not a global brand and has presence only in Muscat. Moreover, the company lacks marketing experience, and hence this report suggests a marketing plan based on the situation and industry analysis. The retail sales value of tea in the UK jumped 22% between 2006 and 2011 and was valued at à £655 million in 2011. Almost 87% of the Brits are tea consumers. Sale of loose tea has dropped between 2009 and 2011. Consumers are particularly cutting back on the use of higher price loose tea. However, tea being a staple item for every household, economic downturn is unlikely to have any significant impact on the consumption of tea. The overall tea market is expected to grow by 8% between 2011 and 2016 and reach à £708 million (Mintel, 2012). Sales of ordinary tea bags have been declining steadily over the past few years (73% in 2009 to 70% in 2011) (Mintel, 2012). More exotic varieties such as Green Bags, Fruit and Herbal Bags, Speciality Bags and Decaffeinated Bags, are now preferred by the Brits. Sale of green bags has grown a sensational 83% between 2009 and 2011. As many as 12% of the Brits, drink green tea on a weekly basis. A SWOT analysis has been conducted (Appendix A). The tea industry is experiencing growth as consumers seek health drinks and consider tea to be a health drink. Competition with other beverages and drinks are prevalent but tea is being promoted as a health drink. Green tea and new herbal infusions have been gaining popularity among health-conscious consumers even at the expense of other hot drinks (Groosman, 2011). Suki Tea is a strong contender in the UK tea market as it provides finest loose tea, herbal infusions, and fruit blends from around the world. They focus on ethical sourcing and their teas have Fairtrade, Organic, and Rainforest Alliance accreditation, which have served to enhance their market position (Suki Tea, n.d.). Inner City Violence Video Lecture Critique Coursework
Inner City Violence Video Lecture Critique - Coursework Example The speakerââ¬â¢s main point appears credible given that the evidence is in the miraculous outcomes that he gives. The theme is credible as it tries to combine social science, street reality, and moral urgency. However, the presentation seems exaggerated as the speaker either appeared too unreserved or got too far along the speech dismissing the beliefs of minorities that policing or drug policy is an economic scheme to reinstate slavery, prior to admitting that it is essentially justified (Kennedy, 2011). I agree with the speaker that there is a socially built illusion. This is justified by the way he mobilizes the traditions of the imposing escapade tale to illustrate what people should have already known. It is true that everyone who engaged in the city crime crisis shares a lot of character traits with each other than any other person involved shares with anyone else. I also agree that people in a community, such as cops, crime victims, shooters, and the families; all begin from one point in life. In fact, they are the same people caught up in extreme circumstances, rather than a permanently and radically different kind o individual as some might think. Despite the fact that I agree with the above issues as presented, I disagree with the speakerââ¬â¢s point that the urban communities with high rates of criminal cases have a breakdown within the three parts namely; the victims, the police, and the residents. According to him, the three have fake perceptions about each other, making them unable to deal with crime appropriately. This is not actually the case because every individual has a role to play as an element of society, and the failure to keep peace ought not to be a one-groupââ¬â¢s role. Further, I disagree with his motive to show the reason as to why crime decreased during the 1990s because it fails to address some earlier theories that relate to his story (Harding, 2010). The presentation, and the book in general is a must
Proposed European Union Financial Transaction Tax Essay
Proposed European Union Financial Transaction Tax - Essay Example The general population and normal business ventures were to remain unaffected (Vella, Fuest and Tim, 2011). The proposed tax was to be separate from normal bank charge that some regional administrations are in the process of levying on monetary institutions to help in shielding them from the fees of any potential bailouts. Research has revealed that the tax has the potential of gathering about 58 billion Euros per year. However, the member states of the European Union are still undecided on whether to agree to the proposal (Beck, 2011:73). Great Britain is one of the states that are vehemently opposing the discharge of the FTT. The England admin has highlighted numerous reasons sustaining their negative stand on the concern. This figure represented about 37% of the total overseas exchange appeal in the world. In London, the dollar trade is two times as big as in America. In addition, the Euro trade in the city is over twice the amount traded in the whole EU region (Benton 2003:54). T he United Kingdomââ¬â¢s fiscal services sector is the leading industry in England, having overtaken the production sector in the 1990s. Evidence of this presents itself in the fact that, in the 2009/2010 financial year, the British government raked in 53.4 billion pounds in tax proceeds from the industry. This amount amounted to 11% of the total collection in the country. This amount is significantly larger than the sum of the countryââ¬â¢s annual military budget, and is nearly equivalent to the countryââ¬â¢s education budget allocation (Stevis, 2012). The countyââ¬â¢s monetary services sector represents about 28% of the countryââ¬â¢s entire sum of service-related exports, with the banks leading the charge. Due to its status as the biggest financial force, in consideration with all other European Union members, the country stands to be the biggest loser from the introduction of the FTT tax law (Bijlisma, 2011:485). According to the United Kingdom administration, the i mposing of the FTT tax law will greatly affect the overall countryââ¬â¢s interest, including destabilizing the economy, and influencing the growth of volatility rates in its markets. In addition, the tax will not bring in any substantial returns. The country has presented to the European Union filed reports detailing the numerous potential damages and adverse effects that the law, if made operational, would inflict on it (The Telegraph, 2012). The government is afraid that the law will discourage derivative trade, increase trading-center volatility, and drastically lessen its marketsââ¬â¢ liquidity ratios. In addition, they argue that the tax will lead to higher rates of unemployment, increase the tendency to evade tax among citizens, and greatly deplete the current amount of available tax proceeds (House of Lords.). Research on the potential impacts of the proposed tax has shown that the tax will affect the long-term growth in the EU by 1.75 %. This percentage, when broken do wn, implies to a cost of about 25.55 billion pounds to the UK economy (Boyle, 2009:342). However, the figure is just an average, and analysts forecast that the total sum could be far much larger, considering the countryââ¬â¢s uncommonly outsized fiscal sector. In addition, research on the matter reveals that the tax would influence a fall of derivative transactions amounting to about 90%. The countryââ¬â¢

In the Iliad, analyze the critical similarities or differences between Essay
In the Iliad, analyze the critical similarities or differences between the Trojans and the Achaians - Essay Example A central theme throughout The Iliad is the recognition by both the Trojans and the Achaians that the gods of Olympus would determine the final outcome of the conflict. This shared belief is shown throughout the story in many different ways. One manifestation of this shared belief in the intercession of deity in the lives of men in The Iliad is through the casting of lots. In essence, this is the same as drawing a name out of a hat to see who wins something. But for the Trojans and the Achaians, it is a means of knowing the will of the gods. When the Achaians needed to know who should fight against Hektor, the lot fell upon Aias. This relieved the Trojans because this was the very person they had been praying would receive the chance to fight Hektor. This shared belief in the intervention of gods in the conflict is also shown in the direct speech between the two warring armies. At the beginning of Hektorââ¬â¢s challenging speech to the Achaians, he expresses his belief that both s ides have found ill favor with Zeus. That is why neither side can prevail. The prayer of the Achaians is also telling in this regard. They prayed that their champion, Aias might prevail over Hektor, but only if Zeus loves Aias more than Hektor. They prayed that if Zeus loved them equally, then they wanted each to return from individual battle with equal honor and safety. This, in fact, is what happened in this particular instance. Another shared cultural feature of the Trojans and the Achaians is the emphasis on honorable actions and bravery. Bravery, bravado and physical prowess are marks of honor and distinction for both societies. In his speech to the Achaians, Nestor upbraids his countrymen for not being willing to challenge Hektor. He states clearly that he would do it himself if he were not so old. He then recounts fights that he won that brought him honor. He makes it clear that none of the assembled Achaians were worthy of such honor because they
Children car seat injury in Abudahbi (program plan) Research Proposal
Children car seat injury in Abudahbi (program plan) - Research Proposal Example When it comes to kids in the car, the motto is ââ¬ËNo belt - no startââ¬â¢,â⬠(Khan, 2014). The proposed aim of the study is to investigate how children car safety is perceived by residents in Abu Dhabi and whether car seat safety regulations for children are implementable or not in their views. Research works in past have indicated that use of seat belts in car significantly lower mortality rates in traffic accidents. Keeping in view the significance of seat belts, many developed and developing countries have made it mandatory for adults and children to wear seat belts at all times while moving in a car. Researchers like Zhu, et al. (2007), Daly, et al. (2006), Durbin, et al. (2005) have all found seat belts usage to be extremely effective in reducing deaths and injuries resulting from road accidents. In UAE the requirement for drivers and front seat occupant to wear seat belt was implemented in 1998; however, no such regulations exist with specific regard to children sitting on rear seats of a car (Brass, et al., 2008; Abu Dhabi Government, 2014; Time Out Abu Dhabi, 2012; Time Out Abu Dhabi, 2011). As per the statistics provided in different newspapers, road accidents and most of the resulting injuries have been associated with not wearing seat belts by the passengers. In this regard, The National reported in 2013 that ââ¬Å"A study at Al Ain Hospital found the most common cause of head injury was aà road traffic collisionà (67.1 per cent) â⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Bell, 2013). Apart from this, Dr. Ashraf Hefny, who is a specialist surgeon in the Al Rahba Hospital (Abu Dhabi), the death rate from traffic accidents in the UAE is 37 to 100,000 of population. This rate is considered a very rate when compared globally with other countries (Bell, 2013). In addition to this, The National reported that a study of car accidents in Al Ain reported that about 98 percent of passengers involved in a car accident did not wear seat

Knowledge vs. Power Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words
Knowledge vs. Power - Essay Example A person with more possession of information or data is therefore at a more advantageous position with respect to the other. If a child thinks with a straight and simple mind a knowledgeable person first reminds him of his teacher. Off course when we first attended school it was the teacher who had taken control over the entire classroom and we always listened to what he said and looked up to him for guidance. The only reason that we give the teacher so much importance is that we need to learn from him and knows much more than we do. In a classroom, therefore, the teacher is the most powerful. However the teacher is liable to the principle of the school and this person has more power than the teacher. Well, immediately we may ask, ââ¬Å"does the principle know more than the teacher?â⬠that would be a difficult question to answer if it concerns a particular subject in which the teacher has specialized. However, in terms of the rules and functioning of the school, as well as administration skill, the principle lies at an advantageous position. The famous English author of ââ¬Å"Guardianâ⬠, Joseph Addison says, ââ¬Å"Knowledge is, indeed, that which, next to virtue, truly and essentially raises one man above anotherâ⬠. From the previous example, it is clear that possession of knowledge raises the bar of one person with respect to another. Off course it does not mean the physical raising of a person with respect to the otherââ¬â¢s position. It is the intellectual upliftment or the increase in dominance and positional advantage. In a single word, we may say that knowledge raises the power of a man compared to the others. The association of power and knowledge is most of the times restricted to the territorial boundary. This is perhaps because, we cannot single out one person who is the most knowledgeable in every field and similarly we cannot select a single person who has

Debate Speech Essay Example for Free
Debate Speech Essay A pleasant afternoon to one and all, standing in front of you is Alliah Dominique M. Sta. Ana, 3rd affirmative speaker, opposing the proposition of Mr. Despi that ââ¬Å"Republic Act No. 10354 also known as Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012â⬠should be legalize here in the Philippines. Let us all be open minded as I begin. First and Foremost, let me give you brief information about RH Bill. It guarantees the universal access to methods of contraceptions, fertility control, maternal care and sex education. à There are many reasons why I stand before my proposition because implementing RH Bill is unconstitutional. Why? It seeks to regulate or legislate morality. It criminalizes the practice of faith and religion as well as other cts that are not inherently evil or against public policy. It is socially and economically unjust and destructive. The law justifies the imposition of new taxes and higher tax rates, government borrowing, price controls, distortions, massive regulations, that will affect not just the entire economy but also peopleââ¬â¢s rights. It will also benefit certain bussinesses and industries in a monopoly or crony system. Where will they buy contraceptives, preganancy kits, RH products and equipments, employerââ¬â¢s fee for their time and service? There are already dozens of RH Laws or RH related laws enacted in the past. It seems all of them didnââ¬â¢t work. Did they? Because the only solution to this problem would be having self control and discipline. I firmly believe that an ordinary person is capable to be good so it does mean that everyone, catholic or not, can be disciplined. The main purpose of sex is to procreate not to satisfy our senses or needs. So if you will have sex, bear in mind that its main purpose is to reproduce which is Godââ¬â¢s will. Now, if you are to have sex with contraceptives, then that is not called procreation. It is called sense gratification or lust which is a strong desire for someone, that way doing sex is purposeless. If you are to have sex without contraceptives, without thinking the consenquences, without family planning, make sure you are ready to face such big responsibility that will change your life. Life is created and is the will of the Lord. How it begins and how it ends is His thing ââ¬â Not ours. When God allowed the process of sex which at the same time is the free will of woman and man which will put that child in a womanââ¬â¢s womb, whether the mother or father is sick, that is His will. And now if you are a follower of God which the RH supporters also claim, and you are spiritually realized, then you must know that you do not have the right to hinder such event or manifestation by killing what is forming or what is inside you. Therefore, I strongly believe that RH bill should not be implented for this will not be created if we just control ourselves. This methods will offend the Church and the Catholics, this methods are just expenses, RH Bill will only change the clearer vision of life. It will be such a bad impact to the country. Bear in mind that we are in a religious country. Besides, Natural Family Planning helps the married partners to strengthen their communication. A baby made with conjugal love is the result of natural family planning thatââ¬â¢s why I prefer natural family planning to be the only method to decrease our population rate. Thatââ¬â¢s all, thank you and Good Afternoon!

International Expansion Plans Of Hardees In India Marketing Essay
International Expansion Plans Of Hardees In India Marketing Essay It is very important for a company to asses the market potential before it enters into that country. Since Hardees is being introduced for the first time in India, its very important to know if there is considerable potential and demand in the market. Hence, the report discusses the techniques to identify the market potential in India for the Hardees. In order to make a business successful, it should have a proper marketing plan developed for it, so that the product is recognized widely among its target audience. This can be only done when its product, placement, promotion, pricing and packaging is done appropriately. Hence at the ending section of the report addresses this area. Introduction to Hardees Hardees was established in 1960. CKE restaurants own it and are currently operating it. Hardees ranks number 4 in US Fast food restaurants. It mostly located in United States with its head quarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Wilber Hardee opened up his first restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina on September 9, 1960. Among all other food items it offers, the most famous ones are the Monster Thickburger, Nutritious breakfasts and Low-carb food. Over the years it has faced several problems and legal disputes too. But nothing has ever stopped Hardees from providing healthy and tasty food to the people who are fully loyal to it. These disputes include the Burger chef copyright disputes, the advertisement criticism and the thick burger campaign. Infrastructure: The infrastructure in India is improving and is stable enough to provide a supportive environment to the Fast food chains to flourish well. It has a positive relationship with all the strengths mentioned in the table above. While in the weaknesss case, only Infrastructure and Expensive than other fast food restaurants is having a negative relationship, due to the sole reason that Hardees is a foreign ccompany that will be needing something more than an average infrastructure, hence it will face some difficulty in coping up with the steady rise in this environmental factor. Political instability: Due to the stable political situations, it has a positive relationship reputation, RD and Franchise system while having a neutral relationship with the quality, hygiene, Trained Skilled Labor, unique taste and efficient services. While in the Weaknesss case, there is no relation of the prevailing political situation with any of the weaknesses of Hardees. Compliance laws: The compliance laws in India will definitely have a positive effect on Hardees quality, hygiene and reputation, while having a negative relation with the RD, Franchise system and trained and skilled labor. Since so much emphasis on these laws will definitely stop Hardees from operating freely and from bringing in innovation as well. While in weaknesss section the compliance laws have a negative impact on all the weaknesses of Hardees because the laws in India will surely object its questionable advertisements, high calorie content and its high price food items. Advance technology: the improving technology in I ill definitely support all the operations of Hardees. So its having a positive relationship with most of its strengths. The advance technology in India will help Hardees develop advertisements according to the culture of India and help people to accept the high calorie content in the burgers through logical explanations. But while using such high technology it will have to incur high costs making everything costly. Hence, in the weaknesss section, the technological development has positive relationship with the first two factors but negative with the last one as shown in the table previously. Security Threats: Since India faces no such security threats, hence it has Positive relationship with almost all of the strengths of Hardees. In order to take advance precautionary measures, Hardees will definitely have to increase its security measure, hence increasing its costs. Thus having a negative impact and making it more expensive. Media: the increasing exposure of media and more focus on it has allowed it to have a significant impact on the lives of people. Hence the Introduction of Hardees in India, can be facilitated through Media, while having a positive impact on all its operations. While in the weaknesses section, media can have a negative impact on making its high calorie content aspect and advertisements more questionable. But if Hardees plans to take control of this area then it will have to incur more cost making it more expensive. Inflation: The rising inflation will definitely have a significant negative relationship with all the strengths of Hardees. Except for Trained and skilled labor and franchise system because rising prices will negatively affect these areas. Inflation is having a negative impact on all the three weaknesses as shown in the table, due to the sole reason that the rising inflation will definitely effect each operation of Hardees in a negative way. Lifestyle changes: Due to the increasing western influence in India, people are moving more towards Fast food restaurants, hence changing their lifestyles. This changing factor definitely will definitely have a positive impact on all the operations of Hardees. Hence having positive relationship with all the strengths as shown in the table previously. The changing lifestyle in India has a positive impact on all the weaknesses as theyl be willing to accept the advertisements with an open mind and with a different perspective and accept the high calorie content in the food. More over theyll go for expensive food at Hardees with thinking that high quality comes with high price too. Income distribution: Mostly, the people in India lie in the lower class and very few in the upper class. Since Hardees is offering high priced quality food, it will definitely have a negative impact on Hardees success in India. Hence it can be seen that this factor has negative relationship with most of the strength factors. But the area where income distribution of India is positively related to its strengths is for the sole reason that Hardees cannot compromise on its taste, hygiene, reputation and franchise system. In the Weaknesses section, as we know that mostly the people living in India are from lower class or lower to upper-middle class, hence these people are not much diet conscious and will accept the fact that most of the burgers at Hardees are of high calorie content. Moreover knowing since Hardees has classified itself specifically for middle to upper class, hence it can easily target this class. The barriers to entry in the food industry are low because less technologically advanced equipments are needed, generally the target audience is in search of new food outlets, the expected retaliation by the existing competition is not that great and the new entrants gain experience soon enough to attract the customers. Moreover, there are no such patent protections making the entry of potential entrants easier. Although there is ease of entry but exit could be expensive as specialized assets are required to process the unique meals of Hardees. Competitive rivalry The current competition is very fierce which includes McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos and Subway. Although Hardees claims that its recipe is still not copied and no other burger is like the burgers they produce but for some price conscious customers Hardees offers undifferentiated products that they can easily buy from its competitors at reasonable prices. However, differences do exist with regard to the offering of different special Food deals for different customers. The threat of substitutes Substitutes for any food business are ample considering the size and competition of this industry. There are several large as well small food joints including multinationals like Mcdonalds, Pizza hut, subway etc when it comes to substitutes for Hardees which enable consumers easily to choose and switch over frequently, as the substitutes increase the demand for a particular class of products reduces as customers switch to the alternatives. Bargaining power of the buyer The number of consumers has grown over time due to the increasing demand and trend for fast food, which has helped them to exercise more power upon these restaurants. Bargaining power of the supplier: Locally there are a number of suppliers in the market for poultry, bakery and other raw materials; therefore, not enough pressure can be exercised by these suppliers, because if the terms are not settled with one, Hardees can certainly negotiate with others in the market. Although the number of restaurants have increased over the time thus giving rise to the demand of inputs (chicken, vegetables, sauces etc) however, the local suppliers do not have enough standing to exert power on restaurants like Hardees. Marketing Plan Product: Hardees offers breakfast, breakfasts sides, charbroiled burgers, sides, deserts, beverages, salads, sandwiches, roasted beef and chicken. This is the basic menu and underneath all these areas, there is a huge variety of options available for customers to select. All the food items are of high quality and are offered with great services. Placement: Distribution Channels Direct (Personal Selling) Hardees should adopt a personal selling policy for its customers. These should include Government Organizations, Hotels, Schools, Offices, Restaurants and Universities among others. In order to satisfy the local consumers, Hardees should adopt techniques ranging from phone, internet, and mail to personal visits. Indirect (Push and Pull) Hardees should adopt both push and pull strategies in the indirect channels. Depending on the sales needs in a specific period, it should offer sales promotions in the form of consumer promotions and trade promotions to boost sales in both the short and long run. Outlet area selection: Hardees should select the most famous areas in India for shopping and business centers. It should locate all its outlets in the most populated areas which are accessible by most of the population of India. This will help in increasing its sales in the beginning. Promotion: The only source of promotion that Hardees should adopt is to advertise through various effective Medias. Since its a fast food business, personal selling and trade promotions will not work here. Hence, to get effectively recognized in the fierce competition in India for Fast food, Hardees should advertise thoroughly with a full plan and system. Advertising Hardees should make use of many advertising mediums in order to reach the masses. The most important of all being TVC, Billboards, internet ads, broachers, TV and Print Media. There have been quite a lot of criticisms on Hardees advertisements in abroad, so marketers should make sure that they are careful enough in India to create non-offensive Ads. Pricing: Since Hardees targets the upper-middle and upper class specifically, so it will have to keep its prices high. But considering the fact that there is a fierce competition in this business in India, it should adopt competitive pricing to increase sales and profit from the huge masses of Indian communities are mostly from the average class.

Compare the predicament of women in society as described in Cousin Essa
Compare the predicament of women in society as described in Cousin Kate and The Seduction. How far do you sympathise with them? ââ¬ËThe Seductionââ¬â¢ and ââ¬ËCousin Kateââ¬â¢ are similarly concerned with the predicament of women in society. They are both poems which end up in a negative position, and are following the trails of a young girl, wanting to be loved, in some way. They also similarly carry the theme of betrayal. In ââ¬ËThe Seductionââ¬â¢, the girl is betrayed by the teenage magazines promising her the romantic love story she always wanted and, in ââ¬ËCousin Kateââ¬â¢, the young girl is betrayed by her cousin, who steals the man she loves. These are the predicaments that both the girls have. Both poems contain lines which question their actions, ââ¬ËWhy did a great Lord find me out?ââ¬â¢ and ââ¬ËFor where, now, was the summer of her sixteenth year?ââ¬â¢. This shows the regret that they had in that period in their lives, and also how betrayed they feel and the problems they have now of losing their childhood. ââ¬ËCousin Kateââ¬â¢ tells us the story of how she was seduced, used and cast away, much like ââ¬ËThe Seductionââ¬â¢. As ââ¬ËThe Seductionââ¬â¢ begins, it uses a lot of imagery to prepare the reader for what may happen. ââ¬ËFar past the silver stream of traffic through the city, far from the blind windows of the tower blocksââ¬â¢. The ââ¬Ëblindââ¬â¢ windows portrays an image of not seeing, and that because something ââ¬Ëbadââ¬â¢ may happen, no-one is meant to see or hear anything. Also, when the poem refers to the girl knocking back the vodka, it shows an uncertain situation, ââ¬ËHe handed her the vodka, and she knocked it back like waterââ¬â¢. Both girls at the start of the poem are virgins but lose their virginity and fall pregnant. The girl in ââ¬ËCousin Kateââ¬â¢, is refer... ...magazines she was reading to have sex, but there was probably pressure from her friends, as I know that there is today, and the poem was not written that far from today. Not only was there great pressure before she had sex, but the shame and feelings that she was put through from society was extreme, and this, in my opinion, should not have been placed upon her. Although similar things happened in ââ¬ËCousin Kateââ¬â¢, I donââ¬â¢t think they did to the same extent, and, at the very least, the ââ¬ËCottage Maidenââ¬â¢ was left with something to treasure and that she was proud of. Although abortions were not a regular occurrence, I still think she was in a better position to keep the baby. Whereas, in ââ¬ËThe Seductionââ¬â¢, I think she would have been forced to have an abortion, or if she had kept the baby, she would have been under great emotion and also financial difficulties.

Privacy And Security Concerns Regarding Health Information Essay
Case 4.8 ââ¬â E-mail Goes Astray Primarily, the technician is the one responsible for the breach in confidentiality because he was the one who sent out the e-mails. Moreover, he did not seek instructions from Kaiser Permanente regarding the backlogged e-mails. Kaiser Permanente hired the technician to upgrade their system. Therefore, tasks other than doing upgrades should be consulted to the company. The technician should have asked whether the accumulated e-mails in the system should be sent out, and he should have asked what to do with them. However, Kaiser Permanente is partly responsible for the breach, because first and foremost, since they hold millions of private information, they should have made sure that that information would not be compromised. They should have made their system secure and only accessible to Kaiser Permanente personnel. Yes, situations like this discourage subscribers in using the system of Kaiser Permanente. However, the services that Kaiser Permanente offer is of great value and subscribers will not easily discontinue their subscription. But Kaiser Permanente has to ensure their subscribers that this will not happen in the future by informing them what caused the breach and reassuring them that upgrades are being done to improve the security of the system and the privacy of their information. The most important thing to do here is to be honest and at the same time make great efforts to secure the system of the company. Case 4.17 ââ¬â Patientââ¬â¢s Files Used for Obscene Calls Definitely, background checks should be conducted before hiring new employees because this would ensure the safety of the clients, especially in the health care industry. Employers should be granted access to criminal records for them to be able to identify the extent of the crime that ex-convicts have committed. Cases such as child rape and indecent assault is a serious crime that should not be disregarded when hiring employees, especially when the job requires dealing with other people, children, etc. such as in the health care institution. Former employees who are given access to system information that are confidential, such as passwords, etc. should be screened out from the system. In other words, once an employee is not connected with the institution anymore, his access to the system should be deleted or reset. In this case, the system of the health care institution is at fault because it failed to keep the information confidential and secure. In this case, the hospital is accountable for the actions of the technician. Primarily because they hired an employee without doing background checks, they do not monitor the system, wherein they could have detected that calls were being made and the information of the clients were being accessed, and the system is not 100 % secure. Case 4.44 ââ¬â University Tightens Computer Security Because of the wide range of subscribers in university medical centers information systems, it becomes vulnerable to hackers. In this case, they hacked into the system and used it to send hundreds of advertisements in their e-mails. The hackers wanted to target the significant number of subscribers in the system. However, the information within the system is not precisely the target of the breach. It is not entirely the medical centerââ¬â¢s fault. This is because hackers do what they do. They find ways to get into the system even if security measures were set-up to avoid breaching the security of an information system. Therefore, even if the system is secure, hackers will really find a way to get into the system. The medical centerââ¬â¢s fault was that they were not able to detect that the system was being hacked. They should have upgrades in the system, which will be used in monitoring the system and alarming when hackers breach the system.

Planing Curriculum for the Preschool The early childhood pedagogue should hold necessary accomplishments in planing course of study criterions that are based on appropriate developmental facets in a kid. It is besides imperative to hold lesson programs that meet and are guided by specific criterions of kindergarten in every province. This is because in the United States, larning in early childhood tends to vary and are distinguishable from one province to the other. However, there are common subjects that can be found among the changing early childhood acquisition criterions. In United States, preschool acquisition criterions are subdivided into developmental sensitive curricular in different facets such as linguistic communication proficiency, development in literacy facets, originative humanistic disciplines, and societal surveies. In each standard country, there are other divided criterions that are conceptualized through specific constructs and thoughts. For case, a scientific discipline topic may be sub-divided int o standard constructs such as biological science, physical scientific discipline, and environmental scientific discipline. Furthermore, these sub-divided constructs may every bit good be categorized into smaller constructs such as clime and conditions, workss and animate beings among others. Standards of Preschool or early childhood course of study should be designed in such a manner that it should integrate the diverse nature of the kids. Every kid ââ¬Ës demands should be incorporated and should non be left out in the designing of the preschool course of study. The intent of this research paper is to look into all the facets of preschool educational course of study and to convey all facets of early childhood instruction including theories, doctrines, and constructs into position. This paper gives focal point to kids aged between 3-8 old ages. The chief focal point of this paper will be sketching how to make a course of study that is child-centered and handles every kid ââ¬Ës demands in each and every developmental country such as physical country, emotional, creativeness, and cognitive facets of a kid. It is imperative to observe that many provinces in America offer thoughts in necessary illustrations and patterns that are critical in back uping each specified criterion. This is of import in assisting instructors in understanding the set criterions and transforming and interpreting it in planning of lessons. This paper imposes criterions for pre-kindergarten as a theoretical account for this paper, in making a lesson program that is standard based. It is of import to observe that lesson planning is a critical constituent in instruction in daily maps of a schoolroom. A lesson program that has a strong construction can be critical in making and prosecuting even to the toughest pupils while at the same clip giving challenges to the pupils who are most talented. A good lesson program acts as a design and sets up the foundation for educational supporters to make pupils who are characterized to hold a broad assortment of larning manners. Schools in both private and public scenes can accomplish an effectual lesson program through pattern. A good and strategic planning of a lesson can integrate contents of a simple instructor ââ¬Ës usher and thenceforth guaranting that larning for every pupil is maximized. The key to the success of be aftering a lesson purely lies in effectual action research. An effectual lesson program addresses both today ââ¬Ës high criterions and the differentiated manners of acquisition of each pupil. In making a good preschool course of study, one must first place and use the right scheme for every course of study design. Planing a course of study that incorporates direct instructions by making inquiries that are designed to take pupils through the necessary stairss that aid in content comprehension is necessary. Planing indirect instructions that guide pupils to get the hanging contents through geographic expedition of common constructs, footings, informations, and events properties. When making a course of study for preschool, it is necessary to guarantee that the course of study aids pupils in previewing, predicting, and placing relevant stuffs. Another method that can be incorporated in course of study design for preschool is grouping kids to make partnerships, which can reciprocally profit them. Theories of larning assert that kids learn efficaciously while in groups/teams. Course of study interior decorators can plan the course of study in a manner that the content command in the lessons may be through the usage of games, tourneies, and squads. When suitably applied, a good preschool course of study can do a deadening stuff to be appealing therefore doing larning for kids interesting. It is of import for instructors to set into consideration that it is non entirely a necessity to take one peculiar criterion when developing a criterion based lesson program. Choosing one criterion when developing a lesson program merely works efficaciously when developing a lesson for merely one activity. However, when developing a one-week-long subject, it is critical to use and administrate a broad scope of countries. Thereafter, an early childhood instructor should set into consideration what other contents constructs can be added every bit good. Other facets that can be included in an effectual preschool course of study may include, among others, ocular and originative humanistic disciplines, graphical designs in instance it ââ¬Ës a math lesson, fiction and non-fiction books reading on facets such as conditions or one can every bit good expression and survey maps in instances the lesson is societal surveies or geographics. This impression is in line with the behaviourist theo ry where behaviourists acknowledge the fact that acquisition is finite. They continue to asseverate that acquisition is open, discernible, and mensurable utilizing empirical methods. This aspect fronts the thought that larning is best when alterations are observed in the scholar. It is every bit of import to see several thoughts when planing and be aftering larning for immature kids. It is of import to supply activities undertakings and subjects that are suited to the age and individualised demands of each kid. Several elements can besides be put into position. Such elements include a ) . Age rightness ; the ages for the kids should be considered and incorporated into the plan. Any individual age group, for case 4 year-olds, has distinguishable demands from a group of kindergartners who have mixed age group. The course of study should be designed in such a manner that is suited for the development of each age group by offering a broad assortment of appropriate activities. Thereafter, the demands group ends should be set after measuring the demands of that peculiar age group. B ) . Individual rightness ; the early childhood instructor should believe about every kid ââ¬Ës development and focal point should be made towards these demands. It is deserving observing that theories assert that kids tend to follow similar growing forms, it is merely the clip frame for each kid that differs. Each kid ââ¬Ës involvements, his/her abilities, and background of the household should be good understood prior to run intoing the demands for each kid. Theories assert that acquisition is best when old cognition is the foundation of new information since new cognition is built on old information. Child-centered planning should be necessitated in such a manner that focal point is made on a kid ââ¬Ës mundane experiences. This will in bend imply when a kid is developing and turning more independently, so will the child become egoistic. This will in bend make the instructors to spread out learning programs, degree Celsius ) . Family and civilization ; kids should non mee t separation from household and civilization. It is of import for instructors to plan activities that are taken into consideration the wants of households and their values. It is every bit of import to affect parents in planing the curricular since different households have different ways of doing meaningful parts. However, there are households that would non wish to be involved, yet others would desire to be involved. Those that wish to be involved should non be disappointed, as they will do any necessary parts, vitamin D ) . What the instructor values as of import should be given ample considerations when planing a course of study. The instructor should analyse his/her ain involvements, his/her ain personal doctrine and he/she should non bury seting the plans philosophy into position, vitamin E ) . Passages should be effected in planing a course of study for the preschool. Factors such as the agendas for each twenty-four hours and the twenty-four hours ââ¬Ës length should impac t the designing of the course of study. Passages are times that take topographic point between different activities, which may at times interfere with the flow of drama. The course of study should avoid excessively many passages and the preschool kids should be given ample clip to be good engaged in their drama. The passages should every bit good be held swimmingly, degree Fahrenheit ) . Parents and instructors that are critical in the course of study should take subjects. Necessary subjects that are existent in a kid ââ¬Ës life should be applied. Undertakings and activities that are closely associated with a kid ââ¬Ës place environment, vicinity should be administered in the course of study. As the kid keeps on turning, so is his/her involvements, therefore necessary accommodations should be made in concurrence with the growing. The maximal clip that a subject should last should be a upper limit of one hebdomad. It is besides necessary to guarantee that subjects flow and inst ructors should observe the growing in kids ââ¬Ës involvements. This can be done through observations and paying attending to the non-verbal communicating in a kid ââ¬Ës activities. Children can be helped to develop growing and accomplishments through planning and showing a assortment of stuffs, which may include books, images, activities, and exploratory undertakings. One of the early doctrines of early childhood instruction known as the High/Scope was incorporated in the United States in 1960. The doctrine is based on Jean Piaget ââ¬Ës thoughts that kids should be actively involved in their ain acquisition. Children learn best through making, most frequently working best with custodies on stuffs and chose undertakings they can manage. This therefore means that the grownups who are working with the kids should comprehend themselves as facilitators or spouses than directors or supervisors. This is in line with the theory of humanists, which backs the impression that acquisition is best done when the scholars have desires to larn. The potency of growing of an individualised scholar is unbounded. Learners should hence be empowered to be independent in commanding their acquisition procedure, therefore, larning should non be non be done for them. High/Scope doctrine ensures that all the facets of a kid ââ¬Ës development are encompassed and instructors and parents are actively involved in giving support for a kid ââ¬Ës emotional, rational, societal, and physical abilities and accomplishments. Therefore, when planing a preschool course of study, it is compulsory to set into consideration all the attacks that are advocated for by the High/ Scope doctrine. High/Scope doctrine should be a usher in footings of denominating different countries for different activities. Children are hence supposed to entree all the necessary installations independently and hence should be responsible for the usage of these countries. A research was conducted to place whether the High/Scope is an effectual manner of preschool acquisition. David Weikart, who evaluated 128 kids in a randomised mode. Sixty-four pupils were subjected into intervention group, while a control group of 64 pupils was non subjected into intervention. Before initialising the research, Weikart ensured that the preschool and the control groups were tantamount in footings of rational public presentations and demographic traits. The consequences were so important since the kids who were subjected to the intervention showed superior feedback as compared to their equals who were non subjected to randomise intervention. Mathematicss construct is used as a theoretical account in this paper. Teaching mathematics in early childhood is really good to a kid ââ¬Ës development. It is imperative to observe that the kid acquires foundation for important development during the early old ages. Therefore, this paper give focal point on the importance of larning in the country of math. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics emphasis the importance of larning math early among kids by asseverating that a high-quality and challenging every bit good as accessing mathematics instruction by supplying the chance with necessary foundations for understanding mathematics in their hereafter lives. The National Association besides fronted this thought for the Education of Young Children. The two organisations assert that early instruction in math is of import in the development cognitive facets of kids in multiple countries. By presenting a course of study in math that based on research, preschool instructors ca n efficaciously help immature scholars to turn. One manner of guaranting effectual math larning takes topographic point in a schoolroom is by guaranting that the course of study is based on experiences that are specific to the kids in the schoolroom. Necessary words and stuffs that are relevant and familiar to the kids in respect to the old cognition, background of the community and their cultural importance should be put into consideration. The course of study should guarantee that the interactions are extended and sustained in respect to the math constructs. Math activities should be pre-planned and added where they deem fit in the lesson program. It is besides critical to incorporate and absorb math larning into other countries of the course of study. This will guarantee that kids are exposed to math in all their countries of acquisition and in this respect, kids will cognize that math surrounds every facet of their lives. The course of study should be designed in such a manner that it makes larning to be fun, and an synergisti c procedure that encompasses other larning countries such as literacy, art, music, and physical instruction. Teachers should besides integrate the right vocabulary for math that is ideal for immature kids. For case, instructors can utilize words such as geometry while presenting forms as this will linger for a long clip in a kid ââ¬Ës head. In decision, quality experiences of larning in kids are good enhanced by a course of study that is planned right. The course of study interior decorators should take activities, undertakings, and subjects that are necessary in run intoing the demands of the diverse kids. Appropriate consideration should be harmonizing to the age of the pupils so they are given contents that they can easy get the hang and grok. The course of study interior decorators should besides guarantee that the demands of parents and/or defenders are absorbed, and that they are in line with household differences and cultural heritage of every kid. Teachers should ne'er deter early childhood scholars in respect to their age, gender from any peculiar subject or schoolroom activity. In planing a course of study for preschool kids, educational theories, doctrines, and constructs should be taken into consideration.

Business Communication Experience Research Paper
Business Communication Experience - Research Paper Example With this strategy, the organization does not attempt to prohibit any information from reaching those who are involved. Needless to say, this approach requires the manager has complete trust in their subordinates as they rely on them to ensure that there is no leakage of their activities to their rivals. This Strategy has its advantages as the employees who know what is going on are in a position to make proper decisions in reference to the ultimate goal of the company. Top ââ¬â Down Approach This approach is definitely different from the horizontal approach as the manager here only provides information to their employees on a need to know basis. In other words, employees who are lower ranking within the organization do not have the complete information on the companyââ¬â¢s intentions and all they are provided with is the information that they need to get their part of their work done. The need to know basis may prove to be effective in terms of keeping important information f rom the companyââ¬â¢s rivals but it also breeds a feeling of distrust among the employees as they feel that the company does not trust them enough to divulge the full information to them (Jones, 2008). However, it should be noted that this communication approach can also be successful in the fact that an employee is able to concentrate on what is required of them without having other influences affecting them. For example, an employee whose job is to ensure that the products of the company are produced in a certain time has nothing else to worry about as their job has been clearly stated by the company and they have no other concern (Rai, 2008).à This report stresses that it should be noted that this communication approach can also be successful in the fact that an employee is able to concentrate on what is required of them without having other influences affecting them. For example, an employee whose job is to ensure that the products of the company are produced in a certain time has nothing else to worry about as their job has been clearly stated by the company and they have no other concern. This means that they will not be bothered by any other factors that they would have been forced to consider had they known they known the end game of the organization. As a result, the employees are able to focus on their duties thus they are able to give their all in the activities that they do. This paper makes a conclusion that the horizontal approach would be the more preferable of the two as despite the fact that there is a risk of having the activities of the company exposed to those who may be considered rivals to the organization, the fact that they know what is going on motivates them to do their best in order to achieve what the company is aiming for. The factor of trust is also essential to the motivation of the employees as they are bound to work harder if they feel that the company has trust in them. As a result, the employee will feel the urge to make sure that they do not disappoint the people that have put their faith in them.

International Quality Management System - Practice exam - Coursework Example Delivering quality products and services also help in building a reputation for business, which influences the achievement of competitive advantage (Goetsch & Davis, 2013). In many cases, businesses seek to achieve accreditation from the international body that recognizes quality standards. The body gives ISO certification to businesses that meet the international quality standards, which helps in building a companyââ¬â¢s brand and reputation. Quality is not achievable unless created, meaning that the products and services being able to achieve quality standards cannot happen by accident. The achievement of quality is a process because quality helps in the creation of value for both customers and the business. Total quality management also focuses on the continuously attaining customer satisfaction at the lowest costs. Quality can be achieved by improving a businessââ¬â¢ operation characteristics, making the products be durable, reliable and the features of the product. International Marketing Plan for Sephora - Essay Example Among the cosmetics line, the fastest growing segment is color cosmetics (Nail enamels and lipsticks). Lakme, a local brand, Tips & Toes, and Revlon have the lead in this segment. Sephoraââ¬â¢s sensitivity to the needs and requirements of their customers is an asset in their penetration in India. Since market penetration levels of international cosmetics brands in India are low, Sephora should sell local brands, such as Lakme, the highest selling local brand, in their retail outlets. Since Indians slowly consider Western women as their model for beauty Sephora should introduce products that will accomplish this beautification dreams. They should include in their product line skin and teeth whitening products that will make Indian skin and teeth similar to occidental women. In terms of their service, they have to capitalize on the enhancement of Indiansââ¬â¢ education and knowledge on cosmetics. Since most of their probable customers belong to the middle class, they should aim to adjust their product packaging and quality to cater this growing market.
